IC-2 anatomy
Anatomy

Engineered for ice,
not despite it.

Every component of the IC-2 was shaped by lessons learned from winter. The result is a sensor that just keeps performing.

01

Continuously heated sensor

The sensing head is heated without interruption, so it never ices over and never goes blind during the event you most need to see.

02

Standard Modbus & analog outputs

Modbus, analog and digital outputs drop straight into your existing turbine controller and SCADA. No proprietary middleware to license or maintain.

03

20/20 vision of the conditions

Complete outlook of the meteorological conditions during the icing event. Wind speed, temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, and much more.

04

FT722-FF ultrasonic anemometer

Pairs with a rugged ultrasonic anemometer engineered for severe icing, keeping wind speed and direction reliable through freezing precipitation.

How it works

From rime to recovery,
in real time.

The IC-2 doesn't just detect ice. It offers predictability on ice accumulation and enables action before you lose production hours.

01

Detect

Liquid water content and icing intensity are estimated the moment conditions deviate from the site's normal baseline, catching ice as it begins to form, before it builds on the blades.

02

Alert

Icing status and intensity are pushed to your turbine controller, SCADA, and IceBrain the moment conditions cross threshold.

03

Trigger

Those outputs trigger the response to the event, whether that's blade heating, curtailment, or a forecast-driven operating plan, before production is lost.
